We strive to deliver service that exceeds our customer’s expectations. We offer a broad range of life safety services and programs designed to meet the specific needs of each facility we service. Our highly trained staff can service all types of fire sprinkler systems regardless of the size, complexity, or system manufacturer.
From the beginning, Mack Fire has always delivered what we promise to clients: prompt, knowledgeable service professionals who take any interruption to your business as seriously as we would to our own. As an owner-operated company, we have an actively involved on-site owner and a hands-on management team who value responsiveness and getting the job done right.
Fire protection runs in the family at Mack Fire Protection, where Bill Wells continues to practice his father’s profession while incorporating design and technical advancements in wet and dry-pipe systems and other special hazard systems.
After beginning his career as an apprentice, Wells worked his way up to partner in a mechanical shop. Realizing that his true passion was in fire protection, he left the mechanic shop to focus on his lifelong dream of building Mack Fire. Doing so has allowed us the opportunity to offer a full-service package which includes; design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and service. Our ability to dominate all sectors of fire sprinklers has allowed us to create and maintain long lasting relationships with our clients.
Mack Fire consistently provides quality, responsive service for each client. As of 2020 Mack Fire has been awarded the AFSA Quality Contractor Recognition. The accolade recognizes our team’s efforts in creating a work environment that promotes excellence and responsibility in all of our employees leading us to produce the highest quality of work.
Unlike “one and done” contractors, Mack Fire consistently maintains more than 90 percent retention rate and a high volume of repeat business. We have built a company that offers specialized teams to assist our clients throughout the entire process from new construction all the way to testing and inspections for years to come. Our dedication to fire protection does not go unnoticed by our clients and other industry leaders.
Today, Mack Fire is one of the largest locally owned, non-union fire protection companies in the state of Connecticut. The business has grown and so has the family connection, with brother Steve Wells joining the company as vice president and partner, a second brother serving as a special projects foreman, and the next generation consisting of both Bill and Steve’s children and nephews have joined the team. A year after Mack Fire was formed in 2005, Entrepreneur Magazine listed Mack Fire among its Top 100 companies. We have continued to strive for excellence and have amassed numerous awards.
In 2020, Mack Fire is still growing and adding both in-house and field staff in the effort to support our ever growing customer base. With over 15 years of success in the business, the demand for Mack Fire’s services has grown significantly due to our commitment to quality, support, and un-matched expertise. From new installations to inspection and maintenance, Mack Fire will partner with you throughout all stages of your project and will also assist you with the success of your growth.
Mack Fire installs nothing but the industry’s best in fire safety systems and is a licensed Tyco Quell system installer for cold storage applications. We also install Victaulic Vortex™ for server protection solutions.

After seven years of field experience completing surveillance investigations, generating reports and providing testimony at trials and hearings, Mr. Wells transitioned into the family trade.
With the founding of Mack Fire Protection, Steven was tasked with covering the administration and compliance functions as his brother and founder, William Wells, focused on the technical and field operations of the business. Steven’s prior insurance industry experience provided a unique insight into the establishment of the company’s policies and practices. Through this collaboration between brothers, Mack Fire has been able to rapidly expand its presence within the region while maintaining the highest level of quality on design, installation, service and inspections for its customer base in addition to offering the most competitive benefit packages for its employees.
Mack Fire Protection’s office continues to expand and implement the latest technologies and software to remain a leader within the fire protection field.
